Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Open Their Home As Friends Flee California Fires

If there is one thing the royal family is known for, it is their kindness and willingness to help those in need. When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved from Great Britain to the United States, they made their home less than 100 miles from Los Angeles in Montecito. Thankfully for them, the location appears to be safe from the current wildfires ravaging Southern California. But some of their friends have not been so lucky. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex graciously opened their home to loved ones in need. But they aren’t stopping there, the couple reportedly hopes to do more

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want To Help As Many People As Possible

A source reportedly confirmed to People that the couple’s home is open to friends and loved ones, but obviously, they can’t house all Southern California. To make a more widespread impact, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are working with their Archewell Foundation to help those in need with both short-term and long-term assistance.
World Central Kitchen chef Jose Andres reportedly also partnered with Archewell to help stretch relief efforts, People reported.

Governor Gavin Newsom warned of the dangers of the fires and urged residents to listen to authorities. “The situation in Los Angeles is highly dangerous and rapidly evolving. President Biden’s swift action is a huge lift for California — as we throw everything we can into protecting residents with substantial state, local, and federal resources. To all those in Southern California, please continue to listen to local authorities and don’t wait, evacuate if asked.”According to the Associated Press, the wildfires killed at least 10 people and destroyed 10,000 structures. They forced hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes, not knowing what they might return. The wildfires have left 450,000 without power and caused between $135 and $150 million in damages.
