For one expectant couple, a gender reveal party turned into a moment no one would forget. Desiree and Ryan Fortin gathered friends and family to unveil the genders of their babies—but what their guests didn’t know was that they weren’t just celebrating two new arrivals. They were expecting three.
The Fortins, who have been married for six years, have faced a long and difficult road to parenthood. After years of struggling to conceive, they decided to pursue in vitro fertilization. Their journey took an incredible turn when they discovered that their treatment had been more successful than they ever imagined.

“We knew IVF was our best chance,” Desiree shared in an interview. ” But we were completely shocked to hear we were having triplets!”
For the couple, the news felt particularly special—both Desiree and Ryan are twins themselves.
“It was almost like fate,” Desiree explained. “After thinking we might never have children, suddenly we’re having three. With both of us coming from twin families, it just felt meant to be.”
Rather than immediately sharing the shocking news with friends and family, the Fortins decided to keep the triplet surprise a secret.

“We had been so open about our infertility struggles,” Desiree said. “So many people had supported us—our friends, our church, our families. We wanted to give them a moment of pure excitement and joy
They did confide in a few close friends and Desiree’s mother, who provided emotional support during the pregnancy.
Desiree, a newborn photographer, had spent years capturing special moments for other families while quietly holding onto hope for her own.
“There were times it was tough,” she admitted. “Anyone struggling with infertility knows the little heartbreaks along the way. But being around babies gave me hope. It reminded me that someday, this could be us.”

During the party, guests watched as the couple opened two boxes, each releasing balloons that revealed the first two babies’ genders. Cheers erupted as pink and blue balloons filled the air.
Then, just when guests thought the big moment had passed, Ryan turned to the crowd with a knowing smile.
“Hold on,” he said. “We’re not done yet.”
A third box was brought out, and as Desiree and Ryan opened it, the final set of balloons confirmed their third baby’s gender.

Tears, laughter, and shouts of joy filled the room as their loved ones processed the incredible news.
The Fortins are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their three little miracles—two boys and a girl.
